Route Distance Transit Freight est. Vessel Volume Status
Methodology. Route paths follow realistic maritime lanes, including major chokepoints (Suez Canal, Strait of Malacca, Cape of Good Hope, Strait of Hormuz). Distances are measured in nautical miles along the drawn route path. Transit times assume 13 knots average service speed, consistent with fully refrigerated gas carrier operations at typical laden speed. Freight cost estimates are indicative ranges derived from publicly available VLGC/VLAC rate assessments (Platts/S&P Global, Clarksons, Drewry) adjusted for vessel size, route distance, and current market conditions. VLAC rates referenced: Houston–NW Europe ~$56/t (Jan 2025, Platts); Jubail–Ulsan ~$95–110/t (OPIS 2024 average). Port bunkering readiness levels follow the AEA/Getting to Zero Coalition Port Readiness Level (PRL) methodology. Projected volume figures for 2027–2030 are derived from confirmed offtake agreements and Observatory project tracker data. All freight estimates are indicative only and subject to market conditions.
